Reflections on the Promises

deaconate vigil reflection 2015

Every year in preparation for their ordination to the diaconate, the class of deacon candidates invites professors from their universities to offer reflections on one of the three promises that a deacon candidate makes at his ordination. The conferences are given during the College’s daily Holy Hour, in which the seminarians adore the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. The Pontifical North American College community is always blessed by the rich words of these learned professors, which help the deacon candidates to understand the beauty, grace, and responsibility associated with the diaconal promises. In order to share the wealth of the wisdom offered in these conferences, the College is pleased to make these talks available for all to read or download. May they give glory to God and profit the Church!
