The Umiltà Awards
The Umiltà Awards is an annual event held in Washington, DC in November. Proceeds of the dinner, attended by trustees, alumni and friends of the College, are used to support the mission of the North American College and further enhance the formational experience of the priests and seminarians.
Initiated in 2002, the Umiltà Awards are named for Our Lady of Humility, whose image hangs above the main altar in the Chapel of the Casa Santa Maria, the former seminary on Via dell’Umiltà in the heart of Rome, which now serves as the College’s house for student priests pursuing graduate studies. Our Lady of Humility has been venerated by the seminarians and priests of the College since its opening on December 8, 1859.
The Umiltà Awards honors those who have shown outstanding support and collaboration with us in our noble ministry of priestly formation.

Each year, in conjunction with the event, the College publishes a Commemorative Journal that offers supporters the opportunity to send congratulatory greetings to our honorees. This provides an additional option, other than attending the event, of participating in this very special evening.
We hope that you will consider joining us at the Umiltà Awards in November in an effort to raise funds to support the College’s 150 year old mission of preparing faithful and holy priests for the sacred duty of ordained ministry in the Church in the United States.
