The Rector, along with the students, faculty and staff of the Pontifical North American College, thank our many friends and benefactors who contributed to making the 2008 Rector’s Dinner the most successful yet to date!
Over 400 guests gathered to honor Supreme Knight and Mrs. Carl Anderson and the Knights of Columbus and to celebrate the noble ministry of priestly formation that has been taking place at the Pontifical North American College for 149 years.
In addition to the many distinguished Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops, and Curial Officials, also in attendance were: The Honorable Mary Ann Glendon, U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See, and several other Ambassadors from China, the Philippines, Japan, Poland, Belgium, and Saudi Arabia; over 50 members of the Papal Foundation; and numerous friends, benefactors and alumni of the College.
During the evening, guests enjoyed traditional Italian fare and lively entertainment provided by the seminarians. After accepting the Rector’s Award, Supreme Knight Carl Anderson offered inspiring remarks about the many noble endeavors that the Knights undertake in addition to supporting priestly formation programs at the North American College. Mr. Anderson encouraged everyone present to join him and the Knights of Columbus in promoting the College as a sound investment in preparing the future leaders of the Catholic Church in America.
