The Pontifical North American College accepts applications to the priestly formation program only from individuals who are sponsored by a bishop of the United States,
Canada, or Australia. It is to the advantage of the candidates to be informed of their being recommended to the North American College during their third year of college studies, thereby enabling themselves to meet the prerequisites of the Roman universities. Applicants without previous seminary experience are expected to complete a pre-theology program before entering the College to assist them in making the transition to priestly formation.
