Casa Santa Maria
	The Casa Santa Maria is part of the Pontifical North American College in Rome and serves English speaking priests who are sent from their Diocese for graduate level studies in Rome. At the Casa these priests find a prayerful and fraternal atmosphere in which to carry out the studies to which they have been assigned. Presently there are 72 priest student residents from 42 US diocese and from several other English speaking countries. The Casa is a very short walking distance from both the Gregorian and Angelicum Universities and an easy bus ride to other Roman Universities. It is conveniently situated in the heart of modern Rome but is located in a 16th century Convento - with an inner cloister and two gardens - giving a quiet respite from the pace of modern Rome. Casa community life is characterized by regular personal and liturgical prayer, mutual support and a joyful spirit of priestly camaraderie wich enhances the serious academic pursuits of the residents.
