Before entering the seminary, I spent 10 months in China as a foreign exchange student. I was there between August 2008 and June 2009. I loved the experience and all the friendships I made over there but I very much felt the absence and need of God in the country. Unfortunately, I didn't get to experience what you guys did in the sense of seeing a big Catholic community. I lived an hour and a half from Beijing and attended mass in Beijing almost every Sunday but I (unaware at that time) attended the Patriotic Church. Since entering the seminary, it has become a strong desire of mine to one day, if God wills it, go to China and somehow spread the faith over there. Reading about your guys' experience over there and your opportunity to go and evangelize really gives me hope. I hope that you guys at the NAC make it a yearly program to go and do work over there!
